Hope and strength for seriously ill children and young people

The children seeking help at Lichtblickhof can often look back on many years of suffering. The illnesses they must deal with are severe and take a toll not only on themselves but also on their families. Its unique offer of therapy with animals and the available support for the whole family affords the children and their relatives a much-needed break from everyday life. It also helps the youngsters regain what for many has become a distant memory: hope and confidence.

Founded in 2002, the charity has been committed to helping sick children and adolescents, caring for up to 500 children a year and offering them an unforgettable time through animal-assisted therapy and educational support. With its two locations in Vienna and Lower Austria, Lichtblickhof has been an important youth welfare partner for many years and works closely with the youngsters’ doctors and therapists to ensure that their wellbeing always comes first.
